Looking at Laptops No price limit

I was looking for a laptop that is fast and i can play games on, since I can't build my own laptop I was looking at the Alien ware stuff, since most ads claim they're the best/fastest. But I looked at the processor and the graphix card configs and i was wondering,, This thing seems like it'll run for 10 mins on battery. Am i close on this,, i need sumthing to game at least an hr on battery, or is that possible..

Dell Inspiron 9300 w/GeForce 6800 Go or Dell XPS Gen 2...other than that, I'm not sure. I don't care for AlienWare...seems like you pay a premium dollar for a name and some fancy logos or whatever. I'm no big fan of Dell either, but if you watch the coupon deals, you can usually get $500-$750 off a laptop that is just like an AlienWare but much cheaper. Check it out.

Dell's with a coupon can't be beat for price and most of the higher end ones they sell are pretty good. Otherwise, alot of the others, you pay for the name on the case(alienware for instance).

If you want a gaming laptop but you're concerned about battery life, it's hard to beat the Dell XPS. It's got a GF 6800 Ultra and a Pentium M. Most laptops you'll find with a 6800 or X800 have a regular P4.

I don't think you're going to get outstanding battery life out of any gaming notebook. However, I've heard that the Dell XPS has the best battery life and also top notch performance too. I'd go with that.

Check out the ASUS W2, should be released in the US in a week or so, pre-orders have already begun. Imagine a 17" powerbook... only with PC components and TV tuner.

a dell xps 2 will get about 2-3 hours. decent, not fantastic. alot of people report lcd sparkles though which might drive you crazy if you're gaming.

you may want to check out the acer ferrari 4000 as well, that should get about 4 hours perf.

if money is really no object the Falcon nortwest FragBook DR 6800 might be worth a look as well.

All these laptops say 1hr battery life while playing DVD,, if it's only one hour just for dvds,, how would gaming go,, Is there a super battery available that'll do more than what i expect of 10 min gaming out of these laptops???
