Looking at colleges, any suggestions?

I'm looking for a college right now, and could use suggestions. i am a very good student, and was wondering how your current (or past) college expierence was.

UND isn't too shabby if you can handle -40F temps. We have a world-renown Aviation program here that brings people in from all over the world, so if you were interested in that I'd recommend it.

i live in Minnesota, so -40 temp doesnt bother me too much. flight...hmm. havent thought about that too much but not a bad idea. was looking at more of a medical career though. is UMD good for that too?

UND...University of North Dakota. Where in MN are you? UND has a pretty good med school, too. I have a good friend who's brother is just finishing up in the med school.

Be like Peter Graves. Go the University of Minnesota. Go to the registration office and say "Hi, I'm Peter Graves, and i'd like to enroll at the University of Minnesota."

As an undergrad, either stay in-state until grad school, or go Ivy. Undergrad + out-of-state tuition = teh ouch, believe me. You'll be no better off than had you stayed in-state.

University of Wisconsin-Madison is a great school for medical, and MN residents qualify for resident tuition in Wisconsin.

I live in St. Paul. maybe it doesnt quite get to -40, but in january we got some -30 to -35. Also, the UofM is just too close for me. I may get a butt load of finantial aid, but having parents within easy driving distance just doesnt do it for me.

ND & MN have an agreement that lowers out-of-state tuition for students who "cross the border."

There are a lot of people here that are from the cities, and I have a few friends from high school that go to different schools there. 6 hour drive from Grand Forks to St. Paul. http://www.und.edu/

Madison is a consideration for me. others include Uof California Berkeley, Cornell Unviversity in New York State and Willamette.

SOME of them are pretty. My dad has a cabin up at Lake of the Woods near Warroad, so I make it up there a few times a year.

My only advice is that you can get a good education anywhere if you really push yourself - in the end, it doesn't matter if you went to Penn or Penn State. That being said, talk to recent alums and visit places to make sure there's a good chance the school will fit you well.
