Looking at buying a copier

We have an old Canon IR210 that we're looking to replace with a new copier. I'm getting quotes from HP, Canon, and Xerox. Are there any other companies I should look into? What copiers do you guys have in your business? Do you like them? We're not looking for anything really state of the art. We just want it to do B&W, network printing, scanning to PDF, stapling, and sorting.

I put up with 5 years of hell with Xerox stuff. If it wasn't one thing broke, it was another. Plus they are bloody expensive.

For the money I like the stuff by Ricoh. Cheap, easy to use, and vastly more reliable than any of the Xerox stuff I had. Are you buying outright or leasing through a vendor? I had really good luck and lease rates working with Ikon.

I don't have much experience with the Canon stuff.

It can't be that high. I'd say on an average day it gets used about 10% of the day or so. That's not to say that if we had a good copier it would go up though. We do a couple thousand pages per month. Not sure exactly how many. I'll call our rep and get an avg. monthly usage.

Looks like a couple of people are saying Ricoh. I'll give them a call too. Anyone else for Kyocera?

We use Konica Minoltas and I'm pretty happy with them all in all. The service is good and the units are reliable. Honestly, if you're looking for a 20 speed machine you can go with just about anybody unless you have specific requirements.

Kyocera products are awesome. They use a patented Drum, Ceramic? Last like 1 mil copies.


I was a copier tech for Konica Minolta, Sharp and Kyocera dealers.

For larger machines either konica/kyocera..

Mid range - Kyocera --- 2501 were the last series I worked with.
