Looking at a P4 mobo...

I am considering this motherboard">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813186080</a> for my P4 2.8 since it has virtually everything on it and seems to be the newest chipset for 800fsb.
 
How good is FoxConn? I have never bought a mobo from them. I've seen their name on some cables... I don't need video (just got an x800xt) and would like a Gigabit LAN. Any comments/suggestions?
 
The Abit 865\875 boards are solid and very good overclockers. I've got an IS7 that has been rolling along for over a year without a single issue.

How well does it overclock?
 
I am in the same position as you, looking for a motherboard for my p4 but i have a 3.0E. After looking at a lot of motherboards from well known manufacturers, I am thinking of getting an Asus p4p800-E Deluxe. I was going to get an ASus p4c800-e deluxe but apparently they don't make it anymore and alot of places can't get any in stock and the ones that do have it in stock have it at outrageous prices. Someone told me that Abit IC7 was good but looking at how they are in trouble i'd steer clear for now. Another recommended board was an MSI 875P NEO-FIS2R.
 
Just get the ABIT IS7-E2 (not the -E), if you don't need to go overkill on OC features. Can be had pretty cheap even new (I got them in May '04 for ~$70 a piece), runs and OC's like a champ (currently running mobile 1.6 Cellys @ 3.2GHz :shocked: ).
 
I do have a P4P800E-Deluxe and I must say it's a real jewel! It may not be the best overclocker out there but this board has a lot of great options. Very stable, good features and a rock solid reputation from ASUS make this a great choice. About the P4C800, it was my second choice; I just don't think the boosted price over the P4P800 is worth the extra set of features. ASUS P4P800E-Deluxe = recommended!
 
I'm leaning towards the ASUS P4800E Deluxe...I haven't seen good things with ASUS boards though...Abit has been my board of choice....
 
tell us how you like the asus once you buy it or if you buy it. I'm considering buying it too, but i'm waiting for a decent looking HTPC case
 
For socke 478, I had an Epox EP-4PDA2+, EP-4PCA3+, Abit IS7, IC7-G Advance and also Asus P4P800-E Deluxe and P4C800-E Deluxe and I would have a hard time recommending one over the other. The IS7 overclocked to the highest FSB and the EP-4PDA2+ gave the most amazing non-buffered memory performance I have ever seen.
