Acer TM4402WLMi

Acer AS5672WLMi

I can get the TM4402WLMi for $825 shipped. This notebook will replace my girlfriends desktop and will be our potable PC for when we travel. I've recently started fixing computers, seting up networks on the side and I will use it for that as well. I do want to beable to play some games on it as well. I don't mind turning down the settings since I have my desktop to play the games I want on high settings. I'm just trying to figure out if I should hold out and get the Dou Core and the X1400 or save some money and get the cheaper one and upgrade the RAM?

If I were choosing, I'd go for the 4402 andgame on my desktop. Personally I don't think dual core or even 64bit are as important as I thought they would be. Maybe in another 6 months 64bit might start to really show up (a couple of games that are patched or specialized applications don't count in my book), but I'm not holding my breath. Dual core seems like a waste as well until some decent software/games start taking advantage of it. By that point, you'll probably need a quad core 64bit pc with 2GB memory to run the stuff anyway.

I've read reviews that the 4402 will play games like BF2 and HL2 when the memory is upgraded to 1GB. I don't play any newer games than that and I do have my desktop to game on.
