Hey guys I am learning more and more about computers and wanted to find out. What is the EXACT difference of SIMM & DIMM? I am trying to learn to get my A+ cert and I was told RAM is very Important to Know. I have not understood the difference yet other than dual and single. Any links to info would be apreaciated. :beer:
 
According to my a+ book, the pins on a simm do the same thing as the pin on the opposite side, while on a dimm they have different functions. Also, simms were never made as a complete bank in one package, you had to have at least 2 to make a full bank. switching to dimms made this possible because they could cram enough pins onto a package now to make it feasible to have a whole bank on a package.
