Look what my wife just brought me from Japan

I don't read japanese, but it looks like it says it is the "Super Happy Train Mobile M1". Congrats!

I guess they are no faster than regular trains of the same series. Trains will flip over at the turns when running at full speed though. and they got yellow LED font lights and red rear lights.

I loved toy trains as a little kid. They weren't like this though, they were painted tin and stuff. *jealous*

You should have asked for a Gundam model. Those are awesome for wasting time.

I've got enough to keep me busy for a while (RX-79 Ka, GP-01 Fb, Kampfer, EX-S, Strike Rouge)

don't forget sometimes toysRus online has insane deals on Gundam models, though selection is limited. In my experience HongKong has the best price

lol

I saw the thread title and immediately thought of that person's signature about someone's dad going to Japan and asking for b******* or something...

I don't know what scale since I can't read the manual, and this is my first ever model train set so I can't tell by looking. But from what I found on ebay it seems to be N-scale. do you know if that's like 1:150? That kind of make sense next to my 1:144 fighter jet. I build static scale models and RC cars but model train is a first.

Yep, that is a N scale model train. The proportion is 1:152.

We got my son a HO scale train set for his Christmas. I finally got my garage cleared out enough to where I can start working on building a train table for him as well. I'm wishing we would have gone N scale now though just to save some space.

edit: According to Wiki, they use a different proportion for bullet trains in Japan.
In Japan, a scale of 1:150 is used for the models of 3 ft 6 in gauge trains, while a scale of 1:160 is used for models of standard gauge Shinkansen (Bullet Train) models.
