Look what I just found in my back yard.

Sweet 🙂 You automatically displace current president if you see a bald eagle and rub its head. Go for it!

I've had eagles show up before in my yard, but never bald eagles.

That's cool. They're very neat birds, but their eating habits are less than magnificent :^D

I've been seeing more bald eagles the past few years. I think the population has been growing around here lately.

very cool.

lxskllr: yeah they are growing. they just had a neat show about them on one of the nature channels. they said the population is far larger then it has been in recorded history and growing.

NICE!

Do you have a body of water nearby? I've never seen one away from a large body of water. About seeing more of them, me too. I think they are off the endangered list. There is a mating pair on a lake I fish. 10,000 dollar federal fine for even going anywhere near there nest/area. Got to see them mate, crazy birds do it when they're flying.

-edit-
Google tells me that a pair mates for life and they don't like humans. If disturbed or humans are in close proximity with them they will abandon the nest.

I wonder if they have any idea that they're so symbolic 😛

If they did I bet they would be real assholes.

Have you talked to a bald eagle lately?
They're the New Yorkers of the bird world.

When I was at a certain town in Alaska (I forget where), there were bald eagles EVERYWHERE. It was neat.

Woah those are huge. Think that could eat a squirrel whole. *runs*

A squirrel would just be like a few potato chips to us. You should see the size of the fish they pull out of the water.
