The ego came into being to prevent the feeling humiliation. Rudder and the rest of us have already been humiliated, We hid behind our egos so we don't remember that old feeling we carry forever because we hide from it. We are all the same and the desire to make rudder feel like a fool is so we do not feel the fool is us. Stepping into the light will not kill you, rudder, it will only make you remember when you died of shame. You have always really been OK. We all dies because we had to to survive. No child can consciously endure constant shame. The ego that keeps us dead once saved us.

Beatings go a whole lot better when posters don't take the bait when an OP attempts to divert the subject from what they put in the OP. Wouldn't it be grand if people simply attempted to defend their position, then if proven wrong, they said, "Ahhh, I guess I was wrong about this!" That's not to say that there aren't topics on which there can still be two valid, though opposing opinions, but this thread wasn't one of them. I rarely try to mix moderation with posting as a regular person here, but I will point out that I feel this goes for people in both parties - I had closed the thread about Giuliani because the OP was misinformation, but shortly after, unlocked the thread. I was also disappointed to see major news stations quickly run with that story - a quote taken out of context - without doing any simple fact checking. Many of those sources subsequently dialed it back when the context made it abundantly clear that Giuliani was talking about post Patriot Act. (Though, technically, he was still incorrect due to a couple of minor attacks.)
