You hurt my feelings.... Well you could have but I am not a whiny libtard with a liberal arts degree.

No, you are just your typical idiot who thinks with their gut instead of their brain and when you are corrected you try and deflect from your stupidity. Most people experience shame in instances like this and simply abandon their thread, not you though! You have no shame and you want everyone to know it.

I think you are just going to have to face facts, even the most simpleminded leftist in any room you enter is smarter than you...

Hell, my 14 year old Golden has more sense than rudder. So does the wad of lint in the trash can in my laundry room.

Rudder must be one of the few people on the planet who knows you don't even come close to revealing that information publicly.

Hey clueless there was a documentary last week showing all the guys carrying that secret football from Kennedy to Obama.

But keep trying eventually you'll hit the target.

Me too, is Rudder raging because Biden mentioned a guy in his entourage carries the nuclear "football"?

yes. but the real crime is that Biden pointed to him.

Like Trump, Rudder's knowledge of security and international affairs has been gleaned from Tom Clancy movies (Remember: Trump doesn't read), spy flicks and "You know, the TV programs. I watch all the shows!" (I'm assuming this means 24, Homeland, etc).

who cares where the codes are? Not like there's one code that you can text to a random phone number and blow up the world. pretty sure there's an entire military organization in place to stop that kind of thing from happening.

Worst case scenario:
-guy holding codes gets mugged by.. I dunno, let's say ISIS.
-ISIS has codes.
-ISIS phones nuclear weapon launch hotline and inputs the code at the beep?

I always thought the "nuclear code" was when the President says "Yes, fire the nuclear weapons" not 01100110 01101001 01110010 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01101110 01110101 01100011 01101100 01100101 01100001 01110010 00100000 01110111 01100101 01100001 01110000 01101111 01101110 01110011.

actually, no. I believe it is a series of phrases, numbers and symbols that are relayed from the president to the operator on the sub, silo, B2 or wherever the relevant target would be. I think it is only confirmed between those 2 or 3 points of contact.

And there isn't an entire military organization that is set up to prevent this. The final exchange is necessarily simple (otherwise they can't be effectively deployed at a moment's notice) and the protocol can be easily flummoxed (Red Alert/Dr Strangelove was an effective piece of fiction and satire because at the time, the string of bungled events, policy and people that could lead to such a disastrous nuclear war were very much real--and afaik, not much has changed since then).

I believe the only real line of defense against unleashing nuclear weapons are the POTUS' most senior advisors and cabinet: joint chiefs, SecDef, SecState, etc. After that discussion has been made, the launch can happen in a few minutes.

That information is already public and has been for a very long time.

Also I don't think you know what the nuclear football is. It's not like it's a briefcase that if I stole it I could launch nuclear weapons. The purpose of it is to verify the identity of the president and to give him strike package options. It would be entirely useless unless you captured both the football and the president (and really, the secretary of defense and in this case the Vice President too) without anyone else knowing it.

So no, pointing out that someone in his detail has something that everyone knows he has that is completely useless absent a Bond villain type caper is not a problem.

It's amazing to see the ridiculous news stories that desperate people latch on to.

What?!? There isn't the secret launch button in the briefcase with a finger print reader keyed to the President? I am disappointed. We must close the briefcase launch button gap!

The communications are certainly not related directly to the units, that would be impossible, particularly in the case of submarines.

The football is used to establish the president's identity and give him strike options. That identity can only be verified by both the codes in the football and codes the president carries on his person, so not only do you need to kidnap the football guy but also the president without anyone knowing.

After the president orders a strike this has to be verified by the Secretary of Defense, who would then give orders to the appropriate nuclear forces.

Having the football only helps if you have also stolen the president's codes and can convince the secretary of defense you're him without anyone noticing any of those things happening.

An insane president is a whole different thing.

ok, so, end of thread.

Hey guys, I heard Obama is a muslim!
He is and as Joe Scarborough (sarcastically said) Obama is a deep, deep undercover plant. He's so deep that he's killed a record number of terrorists including Bin Laden and now is waiting until his final days in office to unleash his evil plan.

And, DrPizza bringing you the play by play action in this thread.
Rudder makes post and is called out for being wrong very quickly. Will he say, "oops, I was wrong?" Will the thread fade away quietly?
Rudder must be one of the few people on the planet who knows you don't even come close to revealing that information publicly.
No! He doubles down on stupidity! Here comes the defense... out come the links to wikipedia and google images... Rudder should be accepting that he was wrong any time now... is he going to? Nooooooo
Totally explains why lefties hate corporate influence in politics....yet they flock to Hillary. Even after hacked emails show Soros had bought and used Hillary to get shit done when she was Secretary of State.
What a play! Rudder runs the old Divert Play, 2 diversions! 2 posts in a row! I haven't seen that since 5th grade debate class. Let's see what happens next... Brycejones doesn't take the bait and stops both diversions with zero yards gained.
You hurt my feelings.... Well you could have but I am not a whiny libtard with a liberal arts degree.
Whoa! I didn't see that coming! The diversion didn't work. Now he resorts to personal attacks! What a perfect example of a poster here who can never accept that he's wrong, even when proven wrong.

Rudder exits the thread in defeat! His tail is between his legs as he runs away! Sanity wins!
