Donald Trump is living up to his reputation as thin-skinned bully.

At a rally in Davenport, Iowa on Thursday, Trump threatened to attack several of the Democratic National Convention’s speakers for their remarks against him.

“I was gonna hit one guy in particular, a very little guy,” Trump said at his rally. “I was gonna hit this guy so hard, his head would spin, he wouldn’t know what the hell happened.”

Whether it's sarcasm (which translates to the flesh that tears) or not, this guy really doesn't get nuance. When you get a reaction like this you know the bully has been beat.

supposedly trump uses "hit" as in "to yell at"

either way, he's a fucking lunatic. it causes me to wonder whether the amount of hot air coming out of his mouth is a significant contributor to global warming or not...

Haven't you guys figured out that, right or wrong, he says outlandish stuff because he knows he'll be wall paper all over the major media outlets, for a week? These aren't gaffes, he knows exactly what he's doing, whipping up the media and getting yet, more free pub. He's an asshat, but he's got this thing figured out, as he does it all the time.

You are giving this moron way too much credit. I bet he has trouble understanding the rules for checkers.

Publicity is great for entertainment and some degree business. But this is politics and the guy is vying for the most prestigious spot of them all. Not all publicity is good publicity when people are judging your ability to run a country.

he's used to people kowtowing to him because their livelihood depends on it. Switching mode from a rich-but-degenerate bully to being presidential is simply too much for this 70 year old bona-fide asshole.

Did he or did he not just win the Republican nomination for president of the United States? Did he have to spend tons of money to accomplish this? Or was he making headlines almost every day for something stupid he said? I think publicity has been very very good to him. The more bullshit I hear in the news from him, the more his poll numbers seem to go up. This is completely counter intuitive to me, but then again I'm not the one polling a very close 2nd place in the race to win POTUS.

I wonder how many voters are actually doing that though, versus this being only a small step above a high school popularity contest.

I will say this again. I was as sure of anything political as I can be that on the day Trump announced his candidacy that he would win the Republican nomination and fave expressed the feeling he may do the same against Hillary but not Sanders. I did so based solely on a seemingly different psychological understanding I have via which I perceive the world, and the result of an externally imposed broken spirit that forced some form of ego crushing humility Into my self awarenes, the effects of which also seem to grant a kind of peacefulness with the results that tell me I know nothing. The results of that also inform me that within Trump I see a genius level development of the will to instinctively manifest to others the embodiment of all their most egotistical needs.

In my opinion the liberal brain is unsuited to defeat a force like this, depending now only on gender and racial politics, on those demographics to win.

Democrats failed when they bit into the apple of donations from the rich and surrendered to war for fear it would cost them elections. Sanders did not do that.

Anyway, I think he would be easy to defeat if he were faced by somebody who had defeated his or her shame and not like Trump merely mastered it. I know what I would say if I were Hillary.

What I don't get it is why didn't democrats offer a bigger asshole candidate than Trump? That would have been a sure way to beat Trump. Are we conceding that there is no asshole in the democratic party who is bigger than Trump?

More tough talk from the guy who damn near pissed himself when someone charged his stage, shocker.

In my experience, every single guy who has ever talked shit like Drumpf has always folded like a little bitch when fists starting flying. So far I've seen nothing from the "man" that would indicate he is any different. More of a textbook example really.

All hat, no cowboy. Same as Bush, just with more mouth and ego. That people are convinced by his fakeness and bravado makes me fear for my country. :(

We'll see, said the zen master.

The debates are going to be interesting.

They like Trump because his nonchalant bigotry and proud naivete remind them of what they see in the mirror.

Yup, a supermajority of frustrated white men against a majority of women with blacks and other minorities and a lot of the really important issues pushed to the sides, in my opinion. How are your hopes that if Clinton wins in her first month we will start a campaign to end the idea that money is speech or will it take an inspired madman Republican like Nixon to go to China?

This is an example of how people see things differently. They like Trump because he is a master of projecting the image people who feel like nothing what to believe they see in the mirror. Their hope and faith is that if he can do it so can they. All they have to do is attach their ego identity to his. His capacity to brand is like the mark of the beast. He can clothe you in the finest garments, educate you to be a real business man, feed you the finest meat, help you erect monuments that scream Trump Towers over everyone. You too can be Triumphant over weakness. All you need to do is fall asleep and believe.

Go to sleep and forget that only little children can enter the real Kingdom of Heaven.

Think only that Trump's favorite book is the Bible.

drumpf is so laughably out of shape on top of it. he talks all this tough-guy bullshit, and I truly doubt the guy can even throw a punch, let alone take one.

I know successful people in intl real estate/business who bear an uncanny resemblance to trump to an extend that I suspect it's a certain art native to that industry.

I had some opportunity to spend significant time with some recently and in particular found they possess remarkable talent for giving people what they want at a very personal level, and it seem to me this is integral to closing the deal so to speak. I've never read trump's own work a la art of the deal, but I suspect he leaves that part of the process out for the usual business platitudes, in effect giving people what they want out of this kind of book.
