IBM Model M, part number 1391401, built 1986-1993 by IBM, Lexmark clones built until 1996. You can pick them up on eBay for around $25 if you look a little.

Been using one of those laptop-sized mini keyboards without the separate 9-key number pad for 4+ years now.

W S D C V B N M right-shift left-ctrl left-alt and down-arrow keys are basically completely faded.

No but the right half of the space bar is very shiny because I only use my left thumb to hit the bar.

I have a Dell that's been with my for 5 years. It still looks ok, other than the food stains and who-knows-what under the keys. :disgust:

It's a clacker, too!

I have a black Dell keyboard at work and several letters are fading already (after only 6 months). At home, my old logitech (white keys) shows some wear on M, K, N and V. Though since I type with Dvorak, those translate to M, T, B, and K. I don't know how many years old this thing is. It's from back when they didn't make huge, curvy keyboards with 50 extra buttons that I'll never use. I wouldn't have noticed the wear had it not been for this thread.

no wearing, though some of the letters have a bit of blur to them.

Of course this keyboard is only 21 years old, so it's still got a lot of life left on it.
(Model M made by Lexmark for IBM in 1984)

I'm thinking this keyboard will probably outlast me. Hopefully I'll get another 40 years off of it at least.
