LOOK AT THIS SETUP

I am about to trash my board. I have over the last 3 weeks been on this and other forums to sort out my stupid problem.

ONE REBOOT PER COLD START. Not now and again. JUST AT THE BEIGINING WITHIN 5 MINUTES.

Every single bios and driver is bang up to date, for every card, device or chipset.

Has anyone got the same setup, without this problem.

HELP PLEASE, or its back to another board, which I don't want to do if I can help it.

Also I have refitted my board, moved the two PCI devices around all slots, and so on and so on.

I feel I've been everywhere.

Whats left guys.

I leave it up to you.

I feel for ya, I hate seemingly unfixable problems myself.

Have you tried turning off all the wake on events? Also does your mobo have cpu fan protection? You might try hooking a different fan to the cpu sensor and see if your cpu fan is giving false data on startup.

While I was at it, turn off all power management features.

I don't know if any of this will do anything for ya, but it may be something you haven't tried.

Do you have a different powersupply laying around? You might try swapping it and see.

I have the same problem, Iwill kk266, Kyro2, 256 pc150, 20 gig hd, t-bird 1.2, 300 watt p/s(name brand),creative 52X cd, win 98se, Aopen modem.

I,ve tried swapping video cards with no luck. An answer to this issue would be greatly appreatied.

I,ve noticed that when i power on I have to wait any where from 2 to 5 mins then I'll notice the key board lights flash then I know I can restart then all is well. If i restart prior to that the wait time gets longer.

i had a problim on my EpoX 8KHA+ mobo with a XP 1700. where it would just stay at the loading windoes 2k screne forever sometimes it would catch after numerous restarts. ended up reformating fixed the problim. eded up findingout thaT it was because of Roxio CD creator 5 that it was dooing that cause when i nstalled it again it happened again. so reformated again and i didnt install it and havent had any problims sence.

It could be a number of things, and I really don't know what kind of troubleshooting you have done.

First thing I would do is just start from scratch. Load Win2K with just the mobo, cpu, hd, memory, and video card. Run the system for a few days, and seems if you run into any problems. If you have no problems the try installing one PCI card, and then see if anything happens. So on and so forth....

Second, swap the memory to see if the memory might be giving you problems. I know it's Crucial, but you never know.

Best thing to do is start eliminating one thing at a time. Try your peripherial cards on other systems, like your sound card and network card, see if they cause problems on other machines.

Worse come to worse, it is your motherboard, and you just have to replace it.

That's the beauty of building your own system. I can't say I've ever had problems like that, but there have been times where it took me a few days to get my system running smoothly. Good luck!
