The biggest bug that I ever saw was a cocaroach the size of hmm... around 2 nickles lined up next to each other - maybe a bit more... but nonetheless, it seems incredibly small compared to this giant

What monster? We get grasshoppers like that all the time here. They suck when you are riding the paved loop at Flatwoods park and they crunch under your bicycles tires.
