I think you're missing what he's getting at. The paper was written this way on purpose by the person. I think it's supposed to be humorous/sarcastic and a jab at the professor. Some professors might not find this amusing though.

It's gotta be either satire or shens. No way would the opening contain a sentence that says "I learned to write good." Every English teacher in the world gets heated over good vs well.
