Some chemistry person:

please explain the maxima blow up? the guy stated the tank nozzle leaked, which then touched the open flame of the water heater?

is that because the nitrous+oxygen is explosive?

I think the Nitrous bottle in the Maxima blew up because of pressure. Something was leaking from the bottle which caused the explosion. At least that's my interpretation of it.

[RANT] And Chemistry IS SUCK! I'm taking it right now..I don't really care to know the electron configuration for each element. [/RANT]

TNT Stands for "Texas Nitrous Technology", a wonderful place to buy stuff if you are a nitrous freak.

It was just a NO2 backfire. No harm done. Happened to me all the time. :D

all it did was probably blacken his airbox and lid, while frying his air filter. It didn't blow his engine. It was just a everyday plain old nitrous backfire. If his engine blew, the camera man would be dead with a 5.7" rod and 4.00" piston stuck in his head and oil would have shot everywhere along with coolant.

Yeah, definately just a nitrous pop. Too much squeeze for the timing. I remember one guy (Pat Musi?) who was racing Pro-street and managed to break his windshield during a nitrous pop. Worst case on that LS1 is the airbox clips and filter broke.
