for chrissakes, when are people going to learn to lay off the fsking saturation.

true dat... its all about levels, use the sliders, make minute changes at a time

Well I wanna bring out the color of the insects but not the background...I just don't know how :disgust:

OMG way to pump up the saturation too far. Everything looks fake! The Spider definitely looks better in the first pic.

(but I guess people did love their Digital Vibrance from Nvidia in the other thread....sad...)

Oh and btw, sorry for the grain in the photos...like I said it's much clearer in the real pic. I had to compress jpeg (?) to get the file size small enough for uploadability.

Anyway I'm most worried about the spider pic, I wanna use that for a print (the dragonfly pic doesn't matter). Anyone else like the third spider pic?

I think the first pics look too...black and white...for lack of better description.

How about this for the spider?

Winnar...they look the same

😕

😀

It's cuz I replaced the second spider pic with this one.

Actually, I'd probably take the first spider pic & simply sharpen (or USmask) to pull some more sharpness out of the body of the spider. I don't think that pic needs anything else.

And to all those......."Ooooh, don't sharpen pics", folks............there's a smart way to sharpen and a bad way to sharpen.........this one will benefit from a good sharpening!!!

Leave everything else on it alone.
