I can't remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. Years ago I did this every year growing up, but it was always the generic pumpkin carved with the crappy pumpkin saw. This year me and my friend got a couple of pumpkins and downloaded some stencils to make a more complex carving. This is my first attempt at a non conventional pumpkin, tell me what you think.

Full Frontal No Candle

Another With No Candle

Lights Off With Candle

Better Shot Lights Off With Candle

Pictures aren't the best quality as my digital camera was acting up and had to take them with my phone.

Edit:

Found a picture of my friend's pumpkin

I hope you dont mind when I steal your idea.

Feel free, there are tons of templates out there to make some cool carvings. My friend did the main character from the Nightmare Before Christmas. I wasn't able to get pictures of it but it turned out really cool.

Isn't it too early to carve a pumpkin? It will dry out in a couple of days.

Hmm, couldn't tell you. I can't display it anyways because I am in an apartment. Just going to let it sit around and light the candle occasionally for the hell of it. If it starts rotting I'll just smash it in the alley, not a big deal.

Now you need two pumpkins, and maybe.....oh I don't know, some cornstalks, some long curvy squash, or something that looks like big spaghetti, and it'd be a perfect setup.

Those pumpkin carving kits are great, and they actually work, yes they do. I love carving pumpkins. You can use Vaseline to seal the exposed fresh cut areas, for more information, check out. Pumpkins Masters Lot of good information on the site for carving and caring for your pumpkins.
