Look at my new custom clear case!!!!

I recommend the guy at Designcomp. He's a standup guy.

Yeah the case is kinda pricey. But hey, everyone that see's it will ask you about it! hehehe

Oh any buy the way, I have this case sitting in between my monitor and a set of book shelf speakers. Not inteference on it at all 🙂

Damn, that is one nice looking case.No dust bunnies hiding in there😉 So how does the side panel come off?
Toro

The side panel is one peice scrwed in on each of the four corners.

One thing thou. I use plastic gloves when working on it, otherwise my finger prints get all over it hehehe

That looks great! 🙂 Got any plans to doll it up further? Neon lights... live tarantulas... ???

damn that is tight! I want one!! The cooling looks pretty nice two especially those two fans up front. Does this case work fine? It's hard to see how it works.... since it's clear! hehe

actually, you should use whote cotton gloves like those antique people wear... plastic gloves may leave a residue, even latex does.

invest in a cleaner now man...

would you mind posting in a few weeks\months showing us how much dust has collected?

Very Nice indeed...Looks VERY professional. I build puters on the side might get one of those cases to explain the inner working of a computer to my customers.

403Forbidden and everyone else,

Thanks for all the kind words.

I'm the owner of HTTP://www.designcomp.com DesignComp inc.

403Forbidden was gracious enough to be the guinnea pig on this project. He may have paid a bit more for it, but he got a bunch of extras with it (don't ask him about it; it's a secret, and if he tells you he'll have to kill you, and then I'll have to kill him 😀 😀 )

If you have any other questions, and they're not answered here, just send me an email and I'll get to it as soon as I can.

If you want one, shoot me an email after you go to the site and see what you want. I have the prices lissted under the Products / Customized Cases section. If you want modified versions, be as specific as you can in your email and I'll try to give you the break down.

Just one thing, don't give up on me, if I don't respond right away. I've been swamped with inquiries. Plus I have to go away for about 5 days to be in my best friend's wedding. But I promise, I will respond to all emails!!

Again, thanks for the kind words, these cases do rock! and I love to build them.

Edit: forgot about UBB, not HTML

Would you be able to build a water-tight case? I was just thinking how it would look if you got some LEDs to light up each on of the pannels and then submerged it in a fish tank or somthing...

Techru:
If its custom
is it possible for you to make holes where ever I decide?
example:
I have 2 120 mm fans, 1 80mm fan i would like to use
can you make a 120mm hole in the side panel, (to blow over the cpu)
and one on top , if possible, and 80mm hole in the low front for exhaust?
Would that range about the same price, just diff hole positions?
email stealthassasin@planetxa.cx or post here

Halz,

The epoxy that I use to bond the Lexan together does make a watertight seal, so I guess it's possible. I'd have to get a better understanding of what you want before committing to a definite answer.

Ne0AsSaSiN,

No, I don't charge extra for different sized holes. I would charge extra for more holes, but it would be a minimal amout. So small in fact, that it may not show up on the bill 😀 One question about your proposed setup, wouldn't it be better to have the 80mm in the lower front blowing in, that way it will act as a HDD cooler as well? Just something to think about, but since you have the fans, you can mount them any way you want 😀

Well I am using the case right now at work. (I had to bring it because everyone at work was begging me to bring it backhehehe).

I don't notice any adverse affect on my computer. I also put it next to a few monitors and stuff...nothing weird happend. I am under the impression that if all the other devices are properly sheilded, then it doesn't matter if one of the devices (my computer) is not sheiled. Am I right?

I am skeptical on the EMI shielding too. But looks like a case one could be proud of! Expecially when it comes to the bragging! 😀

That thing looks sweet! Props to techru! Since this dust thing is a problem, you probably want to consider some filters. You can get cheap and use something like fabric softner sheets or coffee filters, or go high-tech and get some specialized computer filters. The only problem is that you'd have to mount them on the outside, and might look bad. You might just want to deal with cleaning itout every few months with some pressurized air. Congrats on the case, though

Descend492,

Actually, I've built a few with filters. I get the square Aluminum mesh filters, and they can be mounted inside. So, from the outside-in, it goes: Chrome grill, 1/4" acrylic, Alum. filter, and then the fan. It looks sharp, because the filter blends in with the fan.

Of course, I only put the filters on the intake fans. It only adds a couple bucks to the price too.

As far as all this EMI shielding stuff goes, no this case doesn't provide any. It is designed for Display purposes only. But, I'll tell ya something, you should never have a problem with it. Just don't go and order 10 of them from me and then create some kind of Computer Lab where they'd all be sitting next to each other in a row on a counter and you'll be fine.

The mobo is grounded to the PS unit, which is grounded to the wall outlet, which is supposed to be grounded to...well, to the ground 😉

We're all going to die from Cell Phone Antennae Radiation anyways, so what difference does it make 😀

I just wanted to mention that their is another web site that offers the same type of product. Its www.clear-viewtech.com, thats where i got my clear case from. But i wish i knew about designcomp.com because their product costs less and its a better overall product. My case from Clear-viewtech does not have any LED's and there is no reset switch. Also the power button does not come with a wire harness which made it a major pain in the @$$ for me because i had to sauder the wire to the switch by myself, which was a pain and they should have done it for me since i paid so much money for it. I've been looking all over the web for a while and the best one i came across is this one. so i recommend everyone who is interested in buying one of these cases to get it here. =)

oh oh...i was just wondering, can I personally be affected by a clear case? Like is there some kind of radiation coming out that can affect my body?
