I'm guessing those visible laces run all the way up his leg and his shoes are already tied below his pant leg. When he shakes his leg really fast he pulls the loose laces away up through his pant leg and raises his pant leg to reveal the already tied shoes.

If you look at the beginning, his pants completely cover where the laces would actually be tied.

Old one, I'm afraid. Notice his pants - they pull up a bit when he shakes his leg. The laces that were showing go up his pants leg. When his foot is shaking, the untied laces get pulled up, and the pre-tied laces are exposed.

Neat trick though.

looks like a pretty simple trick, have shoes tied up, dangle 2 string ends below, shake and pull up strings/pants showing tied shoes?

That's the right answer. It's not being played in reverse, it's just fake laces and baggy pants concealing the already tied real laces.

Wow. After close inspection it looks like that is exactly what happened.

I'm a little annoyed that the front page of Yahoo declares this as a "hands-free shoe-tying technique". It's like they believe it's for real.

Yes, I'm sure that's what they believe.

This is sort of a repost... someone posted a similar video of a guy doing this a few months ago, but then they guy showed how he actually did it (yeah, the laces are pre-tied).
