i for one like the comparison. the second picture, though dark, definitely looks better than the first.

(coming from a geforce3 owner). yes its dark, but hey, you have to give the guy credit.

How are you managing playable framerates at that res with HDR/16xAF and that much grass on a 7800GTX? My 7900GT @ 690/1880 chugs along with that much grass even at 1440x900

How did you get that res? Not offered for my 6800GT in Oblivion.

I also play at 1680 x 1050 on a Dell 2405, but I have really cranked back the settings and the card just barely heaves itself off of the floor.

The difference in detail is night and day to me. Frackal, since you can't get back to where the first scene was taken, how about going to the second scene and defaulting the game back to normal?

Then everyone can see a direct comparison.

I would man but I'd have to uninstall all mods and all of it... if it were simple I promise I would. I didnt expect much and was just going through the motions when making all the changes so I didnt think to take before/afters

I think it took me nearly an hour to do all the changes

I dont get why everyone is saying its too dark, I can make out everything in the scene on my 19" CRT and on my 20.1" LCD. You guys must have brightness or contrast off, trying to get that true black on a CRT ends up making everything too dark, another plus for LCDs imo. But back to the point of the post, I dont see any of the tweaks advantages in the pic you posted. The only difference is that it looks like you turned the brightness down. For most of those packs you downloaded you will have to take a very open landscape scene (As in no trees blocking your view and show far off mtns). As most of those packs only help in distance scenes.

Like the others stated, would be alot better to save a point, take a screenshot, then load tweaks and load save again and take a screenshot. Apples to Apples in other words.

Edit: Just saw your last post, hmm well dont worry about a comparsion, just enjoy the game. But if you do uninstall, try it next time :)
