Longhorn Hibernation....

Alright I am running build 4051 on my laptop (p4 1.8, 512 megs of ram) and no matter what I do I can't get it resume from hibernation. I always get the dreaded blue screen that says something like...IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blah blah blah. Any idea what this could be? Just a bad bug in the current build that can't be fixed?

I noticed that none of the power options work correctly on my laptop, I'll set it and when I reboot the settings are gone.

My guess is that these "features" have yet to have much work done on them at this point, it is after all still considered a "pre-alpha" 😉

Why are you posting this here instead of on the beta support forums?

Well considering this forum is labeled "Operating Systems"...I think I asked in the right place. I mean Longhorn is an Operating System isn't it? Maybe I just like posting in these forums and wanted to see if anybody knew about this.

Why did you even post if you aren't going to provide anything relevant?

Because alot of the questions are from people who are not official testers (as they should be posting in the proper places). And we dont' support pirated copies.

Bill is right these discussions shouldnt be happening here, I understand that you want somewhere to discuss it but fact of the matter is you have a pre-alpha OS and there is no support for it.

They dont exist yet; at least not to my knowledge, and probably wont for another year or so... 😉

There are legitimate support chanels available, even at this point (for legitimate testers)

My mistake it appears that there are publicly available support channels:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/longhorn/community/newsgroups/default.aspx

I had grabed my copy from the MSDN site but neglected to catch the section on support (I thought it was still in the pre-supported, pre-alpha, uber-preview phase)

lol, this thread is getting better and better. Now we have people asking for pirated software in a public forum.

I thought you had a computer repair shop or something of that nature?

It may be worth your while to consider a MSDN subcription for software testing, etc. The OS version of the MSDN subscription is only $700 and would give you plenty of platforms to test off of. (yes I believe it does include Longhorn).

Hmmm. I'll have to look at that.

It seems there are quiet a few legitimate testers on these forums...that's why I asked the question. Geeez...

Yes, but you are not.

And you know this because?

Because your not posting in the official channels, that is where all bug reports and issue should go. If you where a legitimiate tester, asking questions here would never cross your mind since it would be against your NDA.
