Longest you've gone without using the internet

Not talking bout maybe you used it somewhere once back in the day
but didn't try it again for awhile....

Once you've established regular use,
the longest you've abstained completely?

(and did you have withdrawals?)

1 week.
Because I work for an ISP it is kind of hard to go without for long. Vacations are about the only time I get away.

8885 posts and not even a poll? You know how we're all suckers for poll's around here.

2 days on a camping trip.

But I still did check email via cell phone.

So, more like 18 hours, which is the longest time i've slept ever.

I went back home on holiday for 4 months a couple years ago and I didn't touch a computer. I just went clubbing all the time.

Considering the almost infinite possibilities

don't think a poll is needed

Thank you....and your poll will have to be updated for every day over 4000 that passes....or you need a third option.

Yeah... about a week here. When I come back, I always wonder "why on Earth do I waste all this time browsing FARK and ATOT?" when I get back and see all the lame postings that I missed. Then I get bored at work and end up coming back 🙂

I am a huge internet junke. I got internet access for the first time almost 11 years ago...most people didn't even know what the internet was back then. I used to surf in a 486-66 with 8 megs of RAM and a Creative Labs 14.4kbps modem...ah the good old days!

Anyway, I spent almost 8 months in germany last week, and I didn't have a computer at home. I also voluntarely strayed away from the inernet during this period, as I had a lot of work (absolutely non computer related) and had to read about 8 hours a day. I did check my mail every two weeks, but that was it. Does that count?

A few weeks or so. The internet is somewhat overrated and it's become too pervasive in everyday life, though the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

When I was younger, we had cable internet (we were the first people in the Phoenix area to beta test and then we stuck with it once it was retail). For a good many years I was a daily user.

Then for some reason one summer I didn't use the internet at all. We had just gotten a second computer, so I put it in my room and taught myself how to build levels for certain games and played singleplayer games for a few months. Then I went back to the internet and forgot why I had left 😵

Edit: Also, we had no router or anything like that, just the one cable modem on the other side of the house connected to a family computer
