Longest You've Gone Without Sleep?

I think 35 or 36 hours at my first job. Was hurting pretty bad until I got my 2nd wind (and later 3rd haha). Worst part was trying to get the digestive system back to a somewhat normal cycle the next few days.

Not like Im proud of it, but around 40 hours back in the Diablo 2 days 😱 playing for ladder, only stopped to eat + bathroom 😛

Hmm and now that I think of it I might have gone around 72 hours once, but its not an interesting story, I just happened not to sleep because I spent the whole nights with the at-the-time gf... well you know 😱

Somewhere in the neighbor hood of 56-60, but I would have to concede that I may have gotten an hour total of cat naps somewhere in the middle there. Back to back to back to back EMS shifts essentially. Truth be told I got like 1-2 hours off between some of them, but I had enough time to eat and shower before I'd get back on the clock. Luckily, I'm a pro at sleep deprivation. 🙂 As long as I'm doing something that's engaging it doesn't bother me; the downtime is the killer.

44 hours on a trip, 12 hour stop in paris, worst airport i've been to and the worst trip of my life on air france. :|

36hrs
coffee no longer helps, sleep comes so easy at the end its dangerous. though right before falling asleep i felt like i couldn't fall asleep oddly enough even though my body felt exhausted and it was so annoying.

Hi everyone.. I just joined this forum... I'm not much of a techie.. so hopefully can learn something from here..

Lets see... the longest i've gone without sleep.. about 32hours.....

around 30 hours. went on a hiking trip with a couple of my friends and when we had to guard our stuff the first night, i just wasn't tired. slept pretty well after that.

In college I once went around 0.75-1.5 hrs of sleep each night for 3 nights. By the end of it I was really exhausted but couldn't sleep. I became all too aware of my breathing and heart beat and felt it would give out if I slept  . I would drift off and then jolt awake, afraid to sleep :Q

3 days.

was cramming like 20 art assignments in the last minute. managed to get b's in all 3 art classes.

When I was in the Navy around Christmas of '98 we were on deployment and docked in Haifa, Isreal for a planned 3 week port visit.

I'm sure some of you can guess what actually happened.

It will suffice to say I was consious for about 40 hours straight, and 32 of those I was working hard. Never before or after that did I ever want to be out of the Navy so badly.
As a civilian with a semi-normal job I dont think it will ever be possible for me to be that miserable again.

But as grandpa would say, "at least the boy got hisself some grit".

EDIT:
For those of you who are curious about the details, just do a google for "kosovo" and "uss philippine sea"

Most recently was 4 days when my Tylenol PM stopped working about 2 months ago. I'm now taking Ambien CR 12.5mg.

~ 40-42 hours a couple of times in the uni.

~ 40 hrs once in the army with a total of 8 hrs of sleep in 4 nights.

First day of Marine Corps boot camp. Got up at 0400, took the ride there, didnt sleep that night, not until the following night did we hit the rack, at 2100. And I had the first hour of firewatch, ugh sucked so bad. So I guess around 40. I was pretty exhausted, which is exactly what they want at that time.

Ive had watch a few times, for over 30 hours in a row, but generally got a few hours sleep with the buddy system.

Less than 20 hours. All nighters are overrated and stupid.

If you've never pulled an all nighter then how can you definately say they are overrated and stupid?

I've pulled quite a few 40+ hour stretches with no sleep.
