Corsairpro, 30 days is a long time for a work unit, but I suppose it depends on how long the person keeps their computer running and what settings they use. For me I'm done w/ the average WU w/i 24 hours [On my main rig], but can be longer if I leave my computer running.

Right now I've got an old P166 running NT 4.0 server that takes about 1Day and 15 hours per WU!

and an AMD 500mhz (old style) that does a WU in ~24h30 minutes. What a dog..... :Q

Poof had an old SPARC or something like that and it was taking an incredibly long time, but I don't know if she could beat 30 days or not! :Q

:)

Top this...I have a P/75 running Win2K server at my parents house that takes ~100 hours. I really should take it off there but for some reason the thought of losing a measly ~2 w/u's a week bothers me. It's not exactly helping my avg time...

Lemme fire up a 386 and stick Linux on it and try the command-line version. ;)
That'd show y'all....:)

I think Corsairpro's 30-day-WU topped you by 7 fold

<<Poof had an old SPARC or something like that and it was taking an incredibly long time, but I don't know if she could beat 30 days or not! :Q>>

My little sparky is still running! He's a sparc IPX w/40MHz sparc CPU running Red Hat 5.2 for sparc and the linux sparc client. Avg. WU time = ~16 days/WU! :Q

LOL. :p

He'll do VLARs & VHARs in ~14 days. :D

[EDIT: I was looking at Corsairpro's link and that WU was a VLAR - 0.019 which would extend the time out assuming it was running windoze. I also have a feeling that the user who turned that in may have changed the clock on the machine. There is a known issue with changing the time and ending up with excessive WU times being reported in the result file My little sparc runs nothing but SETI 24/7! Figure I I can get ~25 WUs/year done on him! :p}

i doubt it..... her machine was some ungodly slow k6-2 with 64 mb ram on windows 95. it usually would do WU in 6-8 days but must have taken a while on this one

Corsairpro

on this one, there is an 8 day WU... same machine that gave the 30 day WU.

as for the change in clock, she doesn't know how to do that! only change in clock would have been windows and daylight savings time i think
