When I was a kid I had severe issues with constipation, if I remember correctly I might go for a week or two without defecating. I've obviously gotten better with age, but there are times where I'll go four days without a bowel movement. It's not very healthy and it has a lot of negative side-effects.
I'm forcing myself to eat Kashi every morning and to try and have a bowel movement every couple days. As I'm spending more time outside, on a regular sleep schedule and more time exercising I'm getting better at it.
I've never been very regular, and it sucks because I know it's really bad for you.
It goes in cycles. It just depends on what you eat, obviously. If I'm eating a lot of oatmeal, I'll go everyday. If I'm eating a lot of nuts and seeds, it gets a little more compacted & takes longer. But since my diet isn't constant(I get tired of foods after a while), it's always changing. Sometimes I'll go twice in a day, and sometimes I won't go for 4 or 5 days.
My dad takes psyllium fiber everyday. I should start doing the same thing..
