So I'm going to college and it's a fairly big campus, so I'm interested in getting a longboard (used since it's cheaper).
Is there anything I should know about getting a longboard such as bad brands, board length/width (don't want it to be too long because it can get bulky)?

Thanks

You're going to be that guy that longboards around campus? Are you sure that's a good idea?

Edit: I've got one that's capable of time warps. OP below.

It takes me 15 seconds to get the lock out of my back pocket and around the frame/bikerack. Beats carrying a longboard into every university building you have classes in and then finding a place to put it if you ask me...

I mean, if you want to get into longboarding, more power to you. However, I think a bike could turn out to be faster and more useful (carrying things, etc) to boot!

[Two and a half weeks until I can ride again!]

Tons of people longboard around my campus, and it's not even that big. It's a great way of getting around. Sorry I can't help with choosing one, I ride a shortboard. Best of luck though, longboarding is heaps of fun.

I have one. It's a great way of getting around campus. It's quite tiring uphill though. A bike would be easier, but I find longboards convenient to carry around.

Oh I don't know... Buzzing freshman that decide the middle of the bike lanes is the best place to stop for a conversation is pretty fun...!

Heh-heh...I picked up a 24 pack of Longboard and Fire Ale at Costco a couple of months ago...I still have about half of it left...It's not BAD beer...just a bit of bite to it...for some reason, it just doesn't taste as good here as it does sitting on one of the beaches in West Maui...:p

Boomer... you know you're not supposed to drink those out of a bottle, right? It's a whole other beer out of a glass.

Buck... both scenarios sound great. I prefer the Fire Rock on Sugar Beach... Mostly because when I'm done, I only have to cross the street to go home. :D

WYD, ALL good beer tastes better out of a tap than a bottle. (don't drink ANY beer out of a can) BUT, sometimes you have to make do with what's available...(You live at Sugar Beach? <shudder> :D
I like the beaches, but the water's too dammed murky for my liking...plus, the last time we stayed there, they were buring the cane fields and EVERYTHING was covered in ashes....still, it IS on Maui...and that's better on its worst day than Kahleeforneeya on its BEST day.)

Buck, I'd gladly drink Stella on a beach at Napili Bay with you ...anyday. Not a dammed thing wrong with either the beer or the bay.
