I've been around for 19 years and I've never heard that either. I've been warned by my Dad to not take it unless my life depended on it, and then still think twice about it just because of how horrible the traffic can be.

I lived there for 42 years and never heard it called that. Heard a lot of other names, though!

It can be dangerous because it runs through some rather unsavory parts of town. Oh.. and most of the drivers on it are morons.
