My ex (con) boss had a Ferrari 355, a gorgeous yellow one with black and yellow trim.
Well one day while i was crusing (as a passenger)in that, the damn thing decides to shut down. It took the road side service nearly 3 hrs to pull into a dealer. Once in it turned out that someone in the garage had fogotten nto turn a nut a few times over. It was too loose and thus shut it down.
Well that was fixed for free, considering it costs $5000 or so to get an oil and lube.
I was intrigued to note that Edmunds actually bought the 550 they are testing - I would have assumed long-term testers were loaned by the manufacturer, and frankly I am surprised that they were able to come up with the ~$200K the car must have cost. I actually think it is a cool idea to have a long-term test of a 12-cylinder Ferrari to see how its reliability and maintenance costs compare to a more sane car.
<< Coming up behind an Acura Integra, we experienced something of a first. Even though we had made a point of hanging back, the Integra pulled over to allow us to pass. Happy to oblige, we accelerated through a turn, and the Integra's driver gave us the "thumbs up" as we drove by. >>
There is actually a guy that lives near me that has one of these things. I thought it was a Supra until I actually got close to it. Nice red, shiny car. No swirl marks or anything like most deep red cars you see. (His detailer must be a pro.) And it sounds different that most cars...
The weird thing is, the housing costs in my area are approximately the cost of a 550. So I'm not sure how this guy can afford one.

You never know. Remember that incident in Queens, NY about a year ago, where two people were killed in a street race between a Diablo and a souped-up Vette? The NY Times reported that the Diablo owner paid cash for half the price of the car and borrowed the rest on a 30-year mortgage!
There's a Ferrari that's usually parked outside the New Engineering building at UF on weekdays.. I see it when I go to class.. I've stopped a few times to look at it..
I really don't think it looks like anything special.. In fact, it's more 'boxy-lookin' than most cars. The seats have about half as much padding as normal cars and the doors are half as thick.

No offense, but if you don't get it, you don't get it.
