Long SCSI Cables

If I wanted a longish SCSI cable for one device (CD-R/W Drive) that would run behind the mobo and up to the top of a tower case, could I buy one of the longer ones and remove the SCSI connectors in the middle if not needed?

Thanks...

You could do that but you should cover the cable where you removed the intermediate connectors. The Insulation will be broken at those points and you could get someting shorted. Electrical tape would work. Nail polish probably would too. This is a 50 pin cable you are talking about right?

Yeah, this is a basic 50-pin cable between an Adaptec 2930U controller and a Yamaha 8824SZ CD-R/W drive.

I will try with electrical tape...
