I have a rather large file server built and I would like to share it across some of my family members.

The closest family member is my mother. She lives about a mile and a half away from my house. The house where I live and hers has pretty easy to shoot and target but there are plenty of trees in the way. Thats the major problem.

I've messed around trying to see if I can do anything without spending alot of money but have failed miserably.

My co-worker suggested the following kit. He isn't sure about how well it will work but he has tried other products from the site before and swears by their quality. From what I can see it looks solid and there is a good return policy. I checked out the parts and there are ways I can buy the parts myself but from what I see, I won't be saving that much cash.

Once I get it I plan to test out the 5 mile claim. My sister live about 4 miles away and my co-worker about 2 miles.

What other solutions have you guys found/come up with to solve a problem like this? It is a rather spendy kit and I was wondering what other solutions some of you guys on this board might have come up with before I shell out.

Hmm..

Two Buffalo HP Routers and two 15dbi Flat Antennae.

The first question that comes in mind is why it is $460. The price of the individual component s is much lower.

My first reaction is, I doubt.

The vendor is known and not a Fly by the night entity.

Therefore, if they promise to take it back in case it does not work and give a full refund, you can give it a try.

Thanks for the reply.

One of my friend wants me to try his cantenna.. I don't think its going to work at all but I guess I'll give it a try.

Nobody else has run into a problem like mine? Any other kits I could buy perhaps? Most of them out there are pretty spendy.
