Long range baby monitors?

little out there I know...but my neighbor and I have a predicament...anytime I need him to come over while the kids are napping to help with something it's an ordeal because the baby monitor won't reach across the street...

Can anyone recommend some that have a serious range? We're talking literally across the street here...but from the back of his house to the back of mine...things don't work. Curious if anyone here has some that are actually good...all the ones i've researched don't seem to tout this type of LONG range!

Not sure but I have some panasonic (I think) cordless phones that have three phones and one base station. On any of the headsets you can make it a Room Monitor and use another of the handsets to listen. Never tried it across the street though.
