Dodge won't get to grab all the headlines with its Challenger muscle car concept at the Detroit auto show in January, according to AutoWeek, a sister publication of Automotive News. Sources say General Motors will show a Camaro concept on a stretched Kappa platform - the one used on the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky. They say the car is scheduled for production as a 2009 model. The Camaro debuted in 1967 before being phased out in 2002. Sources also say the other GM concept for Detroit won't be a Pontiac Firebird, but more likely a Buick crossover.

v8s don't suck down gas all by themselves. its the weight of the car and the habits of the driver.

a corevette with a 6 liter motor gets 17.5 and 27.5
a 350z gets 20 and 26, with a 3.5 liter motor
a honda s2000 gets 20 and 25 with a 2.2 liter motor
the s2000 really only beats the corvette in the city because it weights 400 lbs less.

I get about 20 city, 27 highway in my 98 LS1 Trans Am. Just have to stay out of the peddle =P

With the power of the car I almost never have to go over 2k rpm to keep up with traffic from a stop.

I resemble that remark!

Anyway, they'll ruin it just like they have every other car they've re-released.

You resemble that remark? You're trailer trash?

So, what's the new Challenger supposed to be like?
