Long LONG car ride = really bored. What to do to pass time?

Get some Books on CD's maybe about mystery. Then once in a while pause and reflect with everyone else.

How is something that makes you use your mind boring? I find it fun, and makes the time pass very fast. And for the most part they are not hard enough to make you wanna rip the book up 😛

Calculus makes you use your mind, that is boring as hell.
 
Tell your SO that you're cheating on him! That'll pass some time. If he stops driving, tell him it's a joke and that some idiot on ATOT suggested it. When all's back to normal, tell him you're a Crack Addict. If he stops driving.... Repeat with new confession until arrival at destination....4TW!!! 😀

i cannot as we are taking father in laws car and its a employee lease through chrysler and only he and his wife can drive it. I guess he got special permission for iamwiz82 to drive as well.
i am looking forward to watching a few seasons of Sex and the City as well.
 
Well I don't know about you guys but a 21 hour drive would be physically taxing on me. I get a sore bottom after driving 45 minutes or so. Maybe it's my car. I figure you will have to take breaks now and then. I suggest trying to make those breaks as interesting as possible. If you belong to AAA, ask them for info on interesting sites, etc. along the way. If not, find out some other way. If those breaks are interesting enough you will have a lot to think about between them. Don't just get bored.

If you do books-on-tape be sure to bring headphones or something for the ONE person in the group who hates the book-on-tape. There's always one.

A bunch of those mazes that you buy at the toy store, where you guide the ball around or whatever. The interstate is smooth enough that you can do them pretty well. Plus, you get to scream when you go over a bump after almost getting the darned things.

Magnetic checkers, scrabble, etc.

The old "make up a story" one word at a time game.

The car color game. Best if one of your passengers is a preschool boy who is into cars.

Buy a bunch of different candies that you NEVER buy. Every half hour take one out and try it. See if anybody can stand it. Make sure to buy candy that probably nobody will like. That way nobody will hog it.

After dark, wear those light-up necklaces that you buy at party stores. You will get some really strange looks from other drivers.

Car bowling: when it's your turn, the first number you see (NOT the speed limit or the route sign) is your score. 10 or above is a strike, less and you get another turn. If you see the word strike or spare you get that. This is probably the WORST car game ever, and is good to use when you're tired of car games and want them to stop.

Knitting.

A laser pointer will keep a small boy quiet for hours. Especially after dark. Warning: don't let him shine it at cop cars.

Singing. Row row row your boat. A hundred bottles of beer. Country-western songs. Camp songs. Anything.

Have a fun trip.

edit: forgot to add the Movie Game. Name an actor/actress. The next person says a movie (or TV show) that the person was in, and then says another Actor/Actress in that movie. Next person names a movie that the another Actor/Actress was in, etc. Example: Johnny Depp. Pirates of the Caribbean - Orlando Bloom. Lord of the Rings - Liv Tyler. And so on.




 
I have a VIP account at BobandTom and download 16 hours of the "Best of" I used it during 6 plane flights and was thourghly entertained.
