Long jump...

I just jumped from a
Pentium 166 with a Banshee and an old Pio 4 disk
to a P3 667 with a Gforce 2 and 2 IBM 75GXP...
My god what a difference !!!
Any bigger jump ???

For sheer MHz, I went from a Celeron 575 to a Celeron 952.

For performance difference, I went from a Cyrix PR166+ to a K6-2 400.

That was a pretty big jump.

Basically my entire CPU history:

Intel Pentium 100
Cyrix PR166+ @ 200+
AMD K6-2 350 @ 400
AMD K6-2 450 @ 504
Intel Celeron 400 @ 575
Intel Celeron 566 @ 952
Intel Pentium III 700 @ 966 (1001 if I use my noisy ass PEP66/Delta38 combo)

Viper GTS

lemme think.

first major upgrade ever in my family:
Macintosh LCIII to a 200mmx. i think the old LCIII clocked in at 25mhz.

then we went from the 200mmx to a PIII 500.

Now I have the PIII 500 and my brother is on a PIII 933.

I went from a SNES to a Celeron 433 (now a 500) and a V770 almost Ultra. 😉

Let's see now, my jump was from a

pentium 100 to a pIII600
i sure did the diff and also
from a s3 trio64v+ with 1 meg or ram to a geforce DDR 32 mb.
I loved the new system.

Lets see..Katmai 550 to a 700E@933, Corsair PC100 to Mushkin PC133 rev1.5 and a Viper 770 ultra to a CL Geforce2 GTS.

A guy I work with just went from a 486 33Mhz with 4M of RAM to a P3 800 with 256 Megs. His video card has 8 times the memory of his old machine! He says he has to stop and catch his breath when he logs on.
