Long flight to Asia tomorrow: what PILLS to get?

Itinerary:

USA -> Korea: 13 hrs
(2 hrs wait)
Korea -> Thailand: 5 hrs

Last time I flew to Asia, I *REALLY* regretted not bringing some hardcore sleeping pills, so I wanna go to a walk-in pharmacy right now and get some.

What pills do I need, and how do I make them give em out, i.e. do I say I have fear of flying or something? Also, my family doc is closed today, so will a walk-in pharmacy be able to issue a prescription for these?

Thanks!

I thought this thread was about buying cheap meds overseas and bringing them back into the States. Disappointed.

...two bags of grass,
pellets of mescaline,
five sheets of
high-powered blotter acid,
a salt shaker
half-full of cocaine,
a whole galaxy of multicolored
uppers, downers, screamers, laughers.
Also a quart of tequila,
a quart of rum,
a case of beer,
a pint of raw ether,
two dozen amyls.

all of the above?

I travel to my home country every summer. I fly from Salt Lake City-Chicago-Warsaw-Minsk. 3 hour flight, then wait 5 hours, fly to Warsaw for 9 hours and wait there 2 hours, and at last a 1 hour flight to Minsk. No sleeping pill works for me, but that is ok. Just get your gaming laptop and rock your games out. That keeps me awake despite the 9 hour difference.

Ok, so far we've got 4 different recommendations above - which is the best one that I can get with a walk-in prescription?

- benadryl
- adderall
- valium
- xanax

only the first one you can get without a prescription.

i would hit up your family doctor's personal number and explain your situation. he will likely have no issue with writing a prescription for a small amount of xanax. xanax and valium are similar, as they are in the same family of drugs. adderall was a troll post. you do not want that if your goal is to sleep, it will keep you awake and alert, and if you are already seeking relief from being trapped on the plane, it will drive you insane.

i personally recommend xanax for long international flights, but you will need a rx. if you cant get it, skip the benedryl, and just get trashed on the flight. most international flights are open bar anyway.

valium/xanax/alcohol achieve their anti anxiety effects all through essentially the same biological mechanism.

Unfortunately I don't have his cell # - can I just go to a walk-in pharmacy and get a prescription?

Benedryl (generic name is diphenhydramine) is the active ingredient in many over the counter sleep aids. It takes a little while to know me out but if you take it around when you board you'll probably be pretty sleepy a bit after take off.

Are you trying to troll now? You can't just walk into a pharmacy and get a prescription. Unless perhaps they have a minute clinic or something with a registered nurse. Pharmacists can't prescribe.

benadryl is probably sufficient.
If you want one that's stronger, doxylamine succinate is the way to go. They're usually sold as unisom sleep tablets, or is also found in nyquil. But I'd get the unisom if you don't want the cough syrup/tylenol combo to go with it.
You don't need prescription for the above two, and the latter I find works better than ambien for me.

lol I'd take the adderall though... you'd have a pretty good time being awake and not doing anything.

The vast majority of doctors will refuse to give out their cell or home phone numbers. There will usually be a way to contact them during an emergency by calling their office, but this is far from an emergency. You should have dealt with this days if not weeks ago and the only bad outcome of not getting the pills is being somewhat uncomfortable.

There's no way you're going to get a pharmacy to give you prescription sleeping pills without a prescription from a doctor. They can't legally give it to you without a prescription, they are no doctors and have no clue about any of your medical condition so they can't write you a prescription. If they could they'd just have people walk in off the street looking for pain killers and things all day long.

Are you from around here? This is pretty common knowledge.

This is appropriate only if you are traveling to Vegas in a whale of a convertible with your attorney present.

Btw guys, I meant prescription from walk-in clinic, not pharmacy. 😀 So what's better: xanax, valium or benadryl? I need something really strong because normal sleeping pills (even 3-4 at a time) do very little for me.
