long distance calling cards

Hello,

I was wondering what kind of calling cards you guys use.

Basically I can't add long distance to my land line cause i live with 3 other people and we don't want to deal with the hassle of figuring out the charges etc. So what i'm looking for is basically a calling card, with these features:

- some local/ 1800 number that i can call
- automatically bill to my credit card
- doesnt' expire, doesn't charge a "connection fee"
- doesn't have some monthly maintenance cost
- cheap per minute call time.

do you guys have any suggestions, or maybe even better alternatives?

thanks!

I go for the 570 minute MCI calling cards @ Costco. They are just $19.99. Granted, there is a small "connection" fee with this card, but, the per/minute charges are extremely low.

[edit]: The more I look at your current situation, this seems like the best & cheapest way to go.

Mine is 3 cents per min local, 49cents bi-monthly charge, 6month expiration from first use/recharge.

There is no connenction charge and it is billed to the next highest minute unlike some card that charges to nearest 2 or 3 mins.

The only pet peeve is that if you use the 1-800 number to use the card from outside your home area, it's an additional 5cents per min, still not too bad.

great solutions so far,
i want to shift the importance to cents per minute to credit card billing-

i want something that directly bills my CC, not something i have to pay for upfront but rather as i go.

possible?

Here

It's perfectly legit.. I have dozens of friends who swears by it. Good luck looking for one that suits you though..

I've not seen a credit-calling card that gets near the rate of pre-paid. What's wrong with pre-paid? $20 card will last quite a while at 3cents per min. The particular card i use, I can recharge it by calling customer service and typing in my CC # through an automated process.

Sams club, att calling cards 3 cents a min no charge on non-pay phone, 3 min up front charge for pay phone (but they all have that). Best of all, no busy signals I get with some of the convinence store #s.

I just signed up for BigZoo.com. It's like an online calling card. Very cheap, no connection fees. $0.75/month. You can charge it for at minimum $10 at a time. 3-4 cents/min to western Europe. Combined with T-mobil 600mins/month + free nights and weekends it's good deal.

this is definitely the best thing i've found... unless someone finds something better in the next few hours i'm definitely going for this!!
yes, its prepaid but its won me over. 2.9 cents a minute, 75 cents a month, no expiry, online recharging. its freakin' awesome!

I have a Sam's Club card. My dad got it for me on my birthday. It's 250 minutes. The only problem is that it charges you minutes if you use it from a public phone.

So I signed up for that since they've got the cheapest rates to mobile numbers in spain that I've seen so far and this is the verification email I got from them. It's kinda scary when the company I just gave my credit card info to responds with a classic case study in the use of engrish:

For the security propose, the new customer must reply our verification email that we already sent to your email address with the day time contact phone number & order number, we will send pin to your email address as soon as we received your reply email during the business hour. If you didn't received verification email from us within 12 hours after you made order,Please call us at 1-516-466-2606 or email to us at sales@phonecardsforsale.com

Easily the best, I used them all throughout college... it's 3.9 cents/min, stone solid reliable and clear. And let's face it, how often are you going to be using a payphone??? Furthermore, you just call ATT and you have the option of recharging for different increments of minutes, like 500, 700, or 1000 charged to your Cred Card. These cards ROCK folks...

OneSuite > BigZoo

I think OneSuite also offers a free fax number as well?

I've always been with BigZoo so I doubt I'll ever switch unless OneSuite REALLY sweetens their offerings.

Time to switch from OneSuite to BigZoo to save 1-1.5 cents/min on international calls I regularly make!
