I was in Iraq 06-07 and it seemed the rate of breakups/divorces was way down (though still pretty prevalent)

I think it had to do with a more regular rotation now, more time to mentally prepare for the seperation. Back in '03 when guys were pulled at a moments notice, it seemed like after getting to Iraq, everybody was getting dear john letters within 30 days.

This reminds me of another forum at the beginning of this war when a comment from a guy in Colorado Springs was:
"Thank you Bush! Hurray for the war! I get to bang military wives!"

As much as that statement disgusts me, I have to admit, its true. Go hang out near a military base during a deployment. Its open season if your into MILF's\desperate housewives.

To be sure of this, I went into the Wil Message Board and click on the Calendar option. Through this menu I was able to identify the many nights my wife's Mii and this 'other' Mii Character played Wii Bowling together.

Whatever happened to the old wisdom of "If the military wanted you to have a wife, they would have issued you one"?;)

If you're married, there's no such thing as an "innocent kiss" with another man...unless it's your dad or something.

just another tremendous price our troops have to pay that usually goes unnoticed by the general public.

Most marriages in the military end up in divorce.

No kidding. I wouldn't be able to handle getting cheated on if I were in the military. Trained killer + psychologically traumatic conditions + a cheating girlfriend? Gee, why not just throw in the bottle of Jack Daniels and complete this recipe for tragedy.

Getting cheated on is one thing, but having it happen while you're literally fighting for their safety? That kind of shit can destroy a person.

Everytime the military men go to war, Jody comes callin...

That's the way it's always been, and probably the way it will continue.

(remember, a wedding ring doesn't fill the hole, and a stiff-dick has no conscious)

Let's be realistic - there's plenty of infidelity among soldiers stationed away from home as well.

Cheating is cheating is cheating. It's inexcusable, no matter the situation. For a soldier to find out his wife hasn't been loyal is a serious slap in the face.
