They didn't. Supposedly Visiontek just made some really poor business decisions (some with NVIDIA) that led to their eventual demise...

They didn't. Supposedly Visiontek just made some really poor business decisions (some with NVIDIA) that led to their eventual demise...

Let's just hope Visiontek's new cards render better than the images on their webpage 😉 Looks like a 5 year old with a box of crayons hacked their web page 😀

I think Visiontek's problems began b/c they signed a bunch of exclusive distribution deals, particularly with BB. While other OEMs were selling their cards through multiple outlets at discounted prices, their cards sat on shelves at retail price, and the only time they moved was when they offered significant rebates that hurt their bottom line (think "writing checks that your body can't cash").

I remember reading something about this a ways back.... visiontek employees went and made another company and nvidia supported them.. so visiontek got all pissed off and cried conspiricy.... and went on trying to sue everyone they could....

Well personally i will never by a graphics card from visiontek now, and that tv/radio tuner from them i was looking at is now not looking that good. They really should think first, if they are driving away customers to mock a company that they were in business with when they made dumb business choices, then they are making more dumb business choices now and hopefully will go bankrupt a second time. Maybe then somebody will be nice enough to hack nvidias site to put up a slam against the double bankrupted visiontek😀
