Until they are done using you and then the loyalty you perceive from them for all your due dillegence and hard work will just have turned out to be a myth.

A myth? He got a paycheck for his loyalty, due diligence, and hard work. His bonus was probably based on the profit the company made or the profit that he made for the company (I prefer the latter). That is sorta how it is supposed to work, is it not? If the company is going under should he be obliged to work a few months for free if that might change the situation?

There is this restaurant down the street that the wife and I absolutely love. They serve one hellofa steak and the wife loves their shrimp pasta and crawfish etouffee. The service is great and the we enjoy the atmosphere. We eat their once a week almost religiously for the past 6 years or so. How many steaks do you figure they owe me by now?

Most unions have good harmonious relations with the management teams of the companies the union workers are employed at. Many union/management relationships have spanned decades, with both employees and owners/investors prospering even in these troubled times.

Yet some people choose to pick at the few union/management relationships that occasionally run into problems and insinuate that all union/management relationships are similarly problematic, using the same tired worn out disproven talking points over and over again.

As has been repeated over and over again in response with no reply: If unions were not needed they would not exist.

When the French have a beef with the Government, thgey do something about it. Watch and learn.

Exactally. I have a great deal of respect for the people of France. They enjoy some of the best standards of living in the world, and have done so for a long time. One of the primary reasons this is so, is because the French people stand up to their government.

The people of France have not forgotten their voice and how to wield their collective power. Everytime some corrupt politician(s) try and swindle and or screw over the average guy, the French people take a stand and refuse to be bent over a barrel without a fight. They dont always win or go about it the right way, but they sure as hell make their presence felt and force their government to take them VERY seriously.

We here in the U.S. sure could take a lesson from our old friends the French. Our countries collective apathy has transformed our government from the democratic republic it was founded as, to a fascist plutarchy.

It's simple. Minorities in France aren't even considered to be human beings.

QFT! That's why my wife and I aren't ever going back. (we're both "Brown") Those so-called enlightened Euro-trash Liberals who quickly criticize American's for being racist treated us so much worse than the so-called "racist" conservatives in Alabama/Mississippi/Georgia when we did a tour of the South a couple of years ago.

I use Fail when it fits. Like when you or CoW go off on your Monarchist diatribes. Forgive my efficiencies in use of language, at 45 I ain't getting any younger and don't feel the need to waste time on verbal diarrhea.

Oh, maybe you don't understand that you're using an Internet meme associated with juveniles. Saying 'fail' like you do is basically associated with some dumb internet website largely populated by kids.

Yeah, Europeans are generally a different kind of liberal...they're very conservative when it comes to immigration issues...many of their type of politicians wouldn't even be able to run in the US, but they're celebrated as heroes in Europe.

That is because they want to try to maintain what it is that made the unique in the first place. They dont want to be a melting pot like the US. And i dont blame them either. Nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage and traditions. I only take issue with it when they also show disdain for others who are not the same. But to want to keep France french or Germany german i have no problem with.

This should be thread backfire of the year.

Good for France. For all our big talk, we usually just let the government and their corporate lackeys (or is it corporations and government lackeys?) walk all over us.

I think anymore they are one and the same.

No, I'm right. Saying 'fail' like you do is what teenagers or overweight adults who play World of Warcraft do.

I only hope that you don't say that to people when face to face with them...that would be awkward with an overweight man in his 40's acting like some Internet child.

The problem is that their definition of 'french' necessarily involves disdain for others.

While personally I think the retirement age is a silly thing to protest over, as it has to go up to reflect increasing lifespans of a population...I have to admire the french for actually doing something. Here we will just whine, blame the other guy and take it up the ass.

nope, i happen to work for a great medium sized company that treats their employees right, from top to bottom.

And when your line on the spreadsheet no longer adds to their bottom line, Bye! Bye!, so sad, too bad. After all, we let you have a 401K lol.

In France the govt is there to serve the people. Sadly this seems to be a lost cause in many other so called "free" countries such as the US.

I also have no problem with the French wanting to keep France as "France" rather than some muslim dominated melting pot. Of course that doesn't excuse racism from some of their populace, but their culture has existed for centuries so why shouldn't they be allowed to protect it?
