I have a Macintosh desktop G4 (customized) with a brand-new 2 week old 21" wide screen flat panel monitor, speaker system, apple keyboard, apple mouse, space saver desk that will fit all of the equipment, apple 10.3 software, apple 10.5 software and all of 10.5 updates disk, apple after effects6 software, apple office Mac, apple DVD studio pro2 software, apple iLife with GarageBand software. Monitor still has box and warranty at officemax same with speakers, also comes with top dollar surge protector and eithernet cable. This is a GREAT set up I just can't keep it around(wifes rules). Call or text me to speed up process, might be able to work on price if sold quickly,

I hope everyone does their homework before buying anything on craigslist. I see so many potential rip-offs and it makes me sick. Currently, I see a computer listed for $700 with an LCD monitor. From what I can see, the computer is obviously not worth more than $100 (type in apple g4 on ebay, you'll find out for yourself). The monitor may be worth $100-150 at most. So where did this $700 come from? Just sayin', hope everyone does a little research before too many people like this guy end up making over $500 off you.

Seller reply

I currently see a ignorant fool. I posted the computer for 700 or OBO (or best offer, just incase "Mr. FYI" didn't know) for good reason, this desktop alone would go for 150-200 on eBay, but it has upgrades, that's kinda why I put customized, he does not see the dual hard drives one is 160gb and the other is 80gb, or the upgraded video card, or the new DVD player, or the upgraded prossesor from 750mhz to 2ghz, that's not including the APPLE software, and I'm sorry but if anyone knows about apple and their software, you could spend 700 easy on that alone. So thank you "Mr. FYI" for trying to make it sound like a scam, stupidity and ignorance will only take you so far sir.

Guy who posted the reply ad follwup to the seller's reply

I started to rip someone on Craigslist for an overpriced used computer once. In the end I felt very self righteous and loads better for the writing exercise... but I didn't post it.

The 3rd guy built and EXTREME GAMING PC for under $300? There's no way that's possible unless he re-used tons of parts or his definition of EXTREME GAMING PC is very different from my definition.

I want an eithernet cable.

Pfffftttt, I build my own licensed and certified ones out of unobtanium with custom, hand-formed plugs I fire myself in my kiln. I insulate them with finely woven yak hair and sell them for 3 cents apiece while making a profit.

I am accepting a genius award at the United Nations later this month . . . well, actually I'm accepting it in the vicinity of the United Nations. Ok, I'm accepting it in Buffalo, but that's in the same state. It's from my sister, but don't worry, she's licensed and certified.

I only deign to post here on Cragslist out of a strong charitable streak, and because I'm awesome.

This is nothing. On occasion when I've been EXTREMELY bored, I've gone fishing on CL's computer section for Mac nuts. I'd post an ad for a macbook pro for something like $250 more than new. A few choice tidbits such as what a "great deal" it is, "once in a lifetime" and other BS.

I'd spend the next few hours reaping the lulz from all emails that flooded in. I'd respond to the longer ones (some were like short stories) with a brief "You don't Mac's like I do, this is a great deal. I already have 5 people in a bidding war." The responses to that were even longer with more rage than I ever thought was possible. Mac geeks are good for something after all.

What the two PC fools aren't taking into consideration is the fact that the OP is selling an Apple Computer. Read that slowly to yourselves, close your eyes, and think about it for at least five minutes. Each Mac is made with the utmost care and expert craftsmanship. There are no silly seams and flash from the molding process. Each new generation of Mac introduces new, unique designs. That alone is worth the extra cost. People pay money for sculptures that do nothing but enhance their surroundings. Mac's enhance their surroundings and also enrich the lives of their owners through superior software and user interfaces. That is why they cost more. That is why they should cost more. Everyone knows this.

He is "LISCENSED" , hehe, where did he get his license from, a cereal box?

Craigslist is horrible, scammers and low-ballers throughout. I sold a router once on craigslist, the guy came to my old apt, i shows him it works and how to configure it, he calls me that evening saying it don't work and he wants his money back, my reply was 'you cant fix stupid'.

General Rule: Never ever buy a pc from craigslist, no matter how good of a deal it is, you will get burned.
