LOL @ the Bible

Yzzim

Lifer
So I'm reading Proverbs to find some advice on a troubled friendship when I run into this:

Proverbs 27:15

A nagging wife is annoying as the constant dripping on a rainy day. Trying to stop her complaints is like trying to stop the wind or hold something with greased hands.

LOL!! Resistance is futile! 😀😉

I don't have a wife but the girlfriend can get that way sometimes.. 😉

"LOL @ the Bible"...

Wow, this is the strongest title for a thread I've seen in my 3 years being here :Q <- this is not a fish giving head. This is the good old "whoa".

Dang, I was beginning to forget that it used to be blue. Oh well, at least we'll be able to sit around the campfire, drink  and look at :camera:'s of :gift:-wrapped 's... 🙂

Not laughing at its entirety, of course...just the verse itself. I thought "LOL @ Proverbs 27:15" would have much less appeal 😉

BTW, I can't believe how great the book of Proverbs is. There's so much wisdom in this book alone it's amazing. Plus, most of it is just 1-2 sentence phrases.

I like Proverbs 28:2 - When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But with wise and knowledgeable leaders, there is stability.

I know, but I was afraid people would crucify you without even reading your post 😉

How long before this thread turns into "The Bible is a joke, it contradicts itself over and over" hate thread?

Yzzim, are you reading the New Living Translation? Because King James has that proverb as:
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.

Yup, New Living Translation. I use my NLT Bible for basic reading because i enjoy the simplicity of it much more. I use NKJV for any Bible studies I might do.

Should have clarified I guess 🙂

I think that puts to rest any argument saying the Bible has nothing true in it 😉

See, the Bible is true! Any married men around here can attest to it!

It is far more productive to just shut up and go back to your porn than it is to argue with the wife about mowing the lawn.

I forget which proverb that is.
