Yeah, but at least it's a well-organized, thoughtful guide that appears to have a lot of work put into it.
It's just like any other how-to guide, for pete's sake. You saying that ANY publication containing freely available information should be free?
I guess I wasted all that money on cookbooks then.

At least they're not selling "information on how do obtain great deals"

Hey, why not? I remember when I built my first box and all the up-to-date info in one place explaining how to do it would have been nice.

Instruction books or how-to books are sold all the time. Why is this different?

Yeah. Pics surely would've helped a lot when I first built my P166MMX. I was puzzled for a while on mounting the motherboard although I did eventually figure it out. I just got lost because there were 2 or 3 different types of mounting I could use.

Actually this guide looks nice how it got so many pics and all. I might buy something like this and give it to my little sister since she wants to learn how to build her own computer but I'm too lazy to teach her.

Looks very well organized. The author did a lot of hard work. What's so stupid about that? You take an idea, work on it, then sell it to make some cash. Instead of book-form it's an electronic guide, so what? Am I missing something here?

i'll add to the chorus and say you're being an ass. not everyone knows this kind of stuff and the seller seems to have put together a very good looking and informative guide.

This looks like a very handy guide for someone new to PC building.

Hardly just for "stupid ppl". Moron.

Haha, my fav is the "Ultimate Windows Super Duper Start Disk" that sells for anywhere between $3 and $10. Its just a Win98 startup disk with a couple more CD-ROM drivers on it.

Well with all the writing and pics that went into it, it would be a fair amount of work to do up this guide. $12.95 is better than some newbie spending $50 on some highly outdated book at a store.

I used "Tom's Hardware Guide" when I built my first PC. I am sure all the info was there on a Google search but newbies don't know how to "put it all together". By that I mean the info and the PC.

I guess my Company is cracking down on internet use. I got this error when trying to access the link.

I don't see what's wrong with it. Your myopic view that everyone knows how to build a PC is what I see as faulted. It looks like a well put together, comprehensive guide for people wanting to learn. Will more than likely save them the cost of the manual in non-roasted parts.

Might have saved me some smoked components when I started out. :) (x286 era)
