I don't think Apple really gets gaming at all and they're more content to let other companies figure it out than to try to spend money on it themselves.

If they wanted to get into gaming at all, I think they'd want to buy Nintendo. That's a company that has a lot of brand recognition and the kind of software that Apple would want to sell mass market.
