It's not programming unless it's in ASM

😛

Bah. When they were teaching us assembly, they started us out making us program directly in binary opcodes, and then, they moved us to ASM to show us how EASY it was. :Q

programming as a concept interests me, but not the complex nature of true programming languages like C/C++. I much prefer high-level scripting languages like PHP, my poison of choice, because you get useful results fast.

Concepts though, are cross-language. You need to understand things like OOP, efficiency, and loops no matter what language you program in. 😛

I took 2 java classes in school as a requisite for my engineering degree.

It was fun to learn the concepts of OOP, loops, linked lists, iterations, and what's that thing called where you break it down to the simplest case and iterate from there?

Cos now I work for a telco regulator and all that has kinda gone to waste

But two classes and I too knew I wasn't cut out to be a code monkey. 🙂

Another thing that really got to me was VLSI design. OMG!
