lol @ my school regarding Vista and Office 2007

You can download the Symantec Antivirus for Vista 32bit and 64bit edition, but they don't even have a Vista release date for students and faculty. 😕

They're going to release Office 2007 in April. My school FTL.

Edit: University of Minnesota.

Isn't that the school that got pwned by Texas Tech in the biggest comeback in bowl history?

It's not like Symantec and Microsoft are the same company. They're going to have different processes. Wait, or you could do what most people do and pay for it. I've never understood the whole software alliance. Why do college kids need the latest and greatest OS free?

It's not really free. You pay for it in your tuition, but I see the point you're making. I'm not complaining though, free OS. 😀

You do realize that they are seperate companies with different license agreements with your University. Since Vista is available already, it's not an unfair to believe that people are already buying or upgrading to a Vista version of their anti-virus software.

I posted a similar thread the other day, and it was moved to software. Not really sure why it belongs there, but whatever. I guess the mods were in click happy mood.

I do think it's stupid though - I go to OSU and have a contract to get MS software, yet Office 2007 and Vista won't be available until "maybe April". I'm pretty pissed.

Edit - I paid $150 for XP Pro and Office XP, for the contract. I will also have to pay $60 to get Vista/2007. It's not free, and I have to wait, so bleh.
