Yeah, I know someone who has a laser capable of cutting.

It's used for cutting steel and stuff - it can cut half-inch steel sheet at about a foot per second. Sadly it's not portable and requires its own electricity substation.

I just spent two days working on an industrial Excimer laser... I got a sunburn from the dissipated beam... (ok, no one else knows that is funny, but it is to me so just laugh dammit!! )

It can burn holes in walls though. All you'd have to do is get the enemy to line up and hold their arms out for about 3 minutes and you could probably burn through one...

If you look in those electronic kit catalogs, they have laser kits, where u build ur own portable cutting laser, not that powerful though
