It's made the UI on the EVO so damn fast I get a little dizzy...

I was blown away back when I first installed it. Have habituated to it for the most part, but get to see the difference whenever I flash a new rom. Crazy fast and smooth when compared to stock.

I've used both and I've always found Launcher pro to be faster. ADW just feels weird. Launcher Pro with highest speeds on everything is win.

Is it possible to make the dock swap icons like Launcher Pro?
I can't live without that.

If you mean changing the apps in the dock, then yes. If you mean changing then pictures of the icons, also yes. To my knowledge, ADW had these features before Launcher Pro.

No sorry.
Need to clarify.
On LauncherPro, you can swipe left or right on the dock. It gives you space for 15 icons.

Yea I personally like Launcher Pro better as well but both are insanely faster than stock. Even stock phones without UI skins they're both faster.

ADW has a "hidden" dockbar. When you swipe up on the app launcher, it's revealed. Not sure how many you can have there. When I was going back and forth between LauncherPro and ADW, I was trying to decide which method I prefer.

I have gone back and foward myself many times. Lately I have tried GO Launcher and I have to say it is crazy fast and tons of options also. For now I am sticking with it.

ADW is buggy and crashed a lot, ADW EX is much more stable and overall better (par for the course for the paid version).

I've been stuck on 1.6 since September so I only have ADW as an option, and later on ADW EX when it was out maybe less than a month ago.

Now that I'm on 2.2 I've started trying LauncherPro. The only thing I like more about LauncherPro is the fact that the dock is scaled to the width of the screen. While the icon itself can't be resized, at least I don't have this tiny dock in the middle of my 5" screen as with ADW. Plus the many downloadable customized docks that people have made is a nice change of pace.

Everything else however I like ADW EX better so I'm back to it now. Maybe if LauncherPro finally comes out with its next, supposedly revolutionary, update, I'll buy the Plus version and try it out.

I kinda liked the LP style 'hidden' docks more than ADW EX's swipe up for the hidden dock method. Used LP's method more, don't use the hidden dock in ADW Ex that much.

I use ADW on my N1 and it works great for me. Fast, smooth scrolling (once the settings are tweaked slightly), and I like the way the dock bar works. I use it all the time - you can scroll it to view more icons, I don't know the max but I have 8 or 9 in there I think.

Custom shortcuts are extremely useful, as is the long-press context menu that allows you to uninstall apps directly from the home screen. I also like the Sense style preview screens and Galaxy-esque horizontal scrolling app drawer.

Launcher Pro is excellent as well and has many of the same features, I've just gotten used to ADW at this point.

I don't like the idea of a paid app being more stable or less buggy than the free one. But I guess you gotta make money somehow.

I like Launcher Pro myself. Last time I tried ADW, swiping barely worked at all. I had a really hard time changing homescreens. Maybe they changed that or maybe the paid version is better, but I'm fine with LP.

A nice feature of LP is how you can swipe dock shortcuts to launch something else. For instance, I have it set to open Gmail when I swipe my SMS app, Market when I swipe the app drawer, and Contacts when I swipe the phone.

I use the free version of ADW and have zero problems. Maybe older versions had issues, but it's rock solid for me and has been for many months.

I'm using ADW Ex right now, used LP previously. Its hard to switch between the two, have to reconfigure all the settings, home screens, etc. Once Federico finishes his LP rewrite, I'll likely buy that and take it for a spin too.

Edit - I ran into lots of FCs with ADW Ex using Pete's GPA10 and 11 GB builds, FYI. Hopefully, will see a resolution for that once CM7 gets finished.

CM7 nightlies on the Nook Color have ADW built-in but I really didn't like it.

I tried replacing it with Zeam which is what I was using on the rooted Eclair, but eventually ended up using Launcher Pro 0.8.3 because the homescreen transition effects look slick as hell on the bigger screen (I also love the calendar widget in the paid version).

I'm just the opposite. I had launcher pro (bought it) on the nook color, but went back to ZEAM due to its light weight feel and ease of use. I use beautiful widgets also and battery solo widget and it has everything I need on the front page.

I do use ADW with CM7 on the EVO though and really like it. From time to time though, my ADW bar just disappears and I have to kill the process and then it will automatically restart. Weird, I know..

regular ADW is slow as crap. If you have a new device sure but on my D1, even clocked at 1ghz, ADW is jerky on CM6.1.2. LP is fast as hell. You can configure ADW a bit, but even then LP should be faster. I've played enough with both to figure it out.

But thank goodness both are definitely faster than stock because stock is.... just a shame.

I never saw that with old ADW myself under CM6.1.x, but I was using LP more until I bought ADW Ex and found it more preferable.
