That kind of depends on how many dimensions you are talking about. You're assuming an 800% increase in linear coverage. They are probably using area or even volume to compute those numbers. I don't wanna do the math (hurts my head ) but an 800% increase in volume would mean a fairly small increase in radius.

From the Dictionary- Range: "The maximum extent or distance limiting".

Distance is not Volume.

Wouldn't that imply, if taken literally, that it is actually outright incompatible with 802.11b and 802.11g product, if it never drops the link rate? What would be the point of that behavior?

Larry, I think this is actually a Good thing.

It claims that if you have a Wireless Network that the Access Point (or Router) is 802.11n it can work at the same time with 802.11b, and the 802.11n will Not slow down. Currently 802.11g would slow down in the presence of 802.11b.

Make No mistake the 802.11n is Going to be Nice.:thumbsup:

However starting to sell Prerelease right Now is probably too soon.

The outrages numerical claims are right out deceiving.

You can be sure that the other Brands are not going to stay behind, more prereleases are around the corner, probably with ?Bigger Pies in the Sky?.:shocked:

I found this: PC-MAG Review of the Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router.

While it is Not providing the performance of the ?Strange? Marketing claims. It might bale out some people who are in special demand or Squeezed Spot.

Current price in places like Buy.com is $136 for the Router and $87 for the card.

I.e. $223 for a pre 802.11n combo. Price of a 802.11SuperG combo is less than $100.
