I'm not surprised. I see people asking for help all the time on subjects they could resolve quickly at a library, but when they don't find an answer on the web they are helpless.

There have been a couple times at work I was assigned to research something and a quick email to the reference desk at the library got me an answer in an hour.

For some reason libraries seem to be invisible to people under 30.

No stupidity is actually really powerful. Stupid people are often extremely certain about their incorrect views and can be very vocal about it. As the saying goes the squeaky wheel gets the oil and often the squeaky wheel in these cases is someone screaming about some perceived injustice or other that stems from complete ignorance.
